Brinley's First Day of School

Today was first day of School and I think I was more nervous than my girl. Hooray!!! Oh mama, it was exciting getting her backpack ready the night before and letting her pick her first outfit out for school (that was always my favoriote part--picking out what to wear!). But by the next morning I was muy nerviosa for both of us!!! My Brinley can be super shy and clingy in these situations and I was worried for her. But thankfully she was so brave when Nolan and I dropped her off--not too much clinging and zero tears (unlike her sissy of a mother). But secretly I was so, so glad she was brave and wore her big girl pants to school today :)

Here's how the morning looked...
I feel that it is so, so very wrong that I (or any person at all) should have to be awake at this time.
This girl is amped up for her first day of school. She kept asking "What is a Principal?"
And yes, that would be yesterday's make-up/hair on me. I'm nothing if not at my finest at 7:00 am...
Brinley & her Daddy
Being a cheeseball and acting like she is not excited when secretly she can't wait.

Look at this attitude I am getting already! As in "Puh-lease stop embarrassing me, Mom, by taking pictures in front of my friends!!"

Aaaaaaaaaand that would be a big "Peace out homies" from Brinley. She is already done worrying about her parents and busy with School.

she looked so friggin cute! i love her hair in those curls! glad to hear you made it through kristi:) its tough to send your first one to kindergarten! i was even sad to send aubrey to first grade today-every year they hit a new milestone just reminds me of how little control i have of how fast they grow. they need to offer a medication to stunt growth, yeah, thats it:) i like them leetle.

Wow, for yesterday's makeup and hair, you sure are one hot mama! (I can't say that Nolan pulled it off as well as you.)

Hi Kristi,
I came across your blog on Ericka's. So good to see you and I can't believe that Brinley is old enough for school. The last time I saw her she was a baby.
Hope all is well!

First of all you have no business looking so HOT that early in the morning. I take my kids to school in my sweats. Oh wait. Ryan takes them to school. But IF I took them to school, it'd be in sweats, first day or no.

Second, do you guys call your Brinley Brinney? That's our nickname for our Brinley too! But he's a boy, and we call him Brinny Bungs. I know, we're cool like that ;)

Congrats to Brinley (and you)for being so brave on her first day!

Oh, how fun! She looks so cute! And...if only I could look as good as you in the morning without any effort...I wish! I am sure I am speaking for both josh and myself. He probably hates waking up to my face every morning. At least I can help looking at myself every morning cause I don't have to look in a mirror, but poor husband...he's probably wondering what he got himself in to. Anyway, hope all is going well!

We are officially true kindred spirits...we have the same welcome mat! haha.

You guys look SUPER FAB for 7am! My alarm goes off at 6:05am as if I'm going to get up, and then I snooze it up for 40 more minutes. Gotta pace myself getting up to exercise. haha. Happy first day of school Brinley
