I'm Naughty, not Nice
A couple of weeks ago, Braden was begging me to magically make Christmas morning appear. And it only took 2 hours for me to convince him that we had a while to go before Christmas was to come. He finally asked me, "Mom, when it snows then can it be Christmas?"
And me, being the good mother that I am and wanting the argument to end, said, "Sure thing." But I said it with a 'when pigs fly' kind of attitude because frankly, it just doesn't snow in Texas...I mean it was 80 degrees yesterday!! So I knew I had just bought myself a limitless supply of time with him. And that did the trick. Braden was satisfied. No more constant asking,"Is it Christmas? When will it be Christmas?"
And then, wouldn't you know it: Pigs flew. We woke up to snow this morning!!! Except it doesn't snow in Texas...
And the first thing out of my Braden's mouth (at 6:30am) is,"When are we going to open presents?" And I yelled angrily into the sky with fists in the air, "What the crap, Texas?!" (ok, I didn't really). Seriously, way to ruin my whole "deceiving my child" business. See why I am going to Hades?
But on the brighter side, my children really felt like it was Christmas morning because of the snow. They laughed and played in it for approx. 1 minute before they remembered snow is freezing. It was a very exciting morning for the Wrights.
And because it had snowed, I gave myself a little treat...Postum!! That's right, baby!!

hahaha. you lied! and got caught! that picture of braden is absolutely adorable!
I"m just cracking up at the visual of you shaking your fist at the sky and cussing -- and then the Postum really did it to me. I"m still laughing.
Poor Braden. You know he will be scarred for life.
hee hee
Um, wouldn't a nice cup of creamy hot chocolate be better? Chocolate's always better! That's what we had when the boys got home from school today, in celebration of all the "snow."
Yuck, even though I haven't seen it in years, I still don't like it. Sorry Texas let you down this time Kristy dear. :)
Yea for snow! Sorry it came too early. I agree.. . I'm a hot chocolate fan. I've never even heard of postum, but justin said his parents used to drink it all the time.
there is my postum loving AMIGA!!!! it's not winter without a steaming cup:)
shake your fists and scream to the beyond!!! at the very least it can make you feel better:)
by the way, your "K" mug is adorable, as is the crafty wonder below. you amaze k-girl:)
I can't believe you didn't let him open presents! Poor kid!
Josh, on the other hand, was so excited about the snow that I think he entirely forgot about Christmas. So I am considering myself off the hook in that department.
Oh boy girl...you are a trouble maker. You know who sent that snow down to teach you a lesson about lying to your kids! And where'd you get the postum? Did you stock pile it before Walmart stopped selling it and keep it in your food storage?
Oh, and by the by, I LOVE Postum too. So I guess I'll be joining the old lady club along with ya ...
That's what you get for lying to your child :)
ha ha, that is so hilarious. who would've thought it would snow in austin this year? crazy! it doesn't happen very often. i'm guessing pigs were flying somewhere:)
that's nice! you let your kids go outside barefoot--that'll show 'em it's cold!
