I have a confession to make. And once I tell you, I cannot take it back. And I realize you may never look at me the same way. It's a risk I'm willing to take. The time has come for this bird to fly…
I am not the person you think I am …
I am an 87 year old woman trapped in a 27 year old's body.
What? You don't believe me? Well, I happen to possess a piece of information that will prove it without a doubt:
I love and/or drink Postum every day. Yeah, you heard right. L.o.v.e. Postum!!! Love. Whew! That feels better.
Is that wrong of me? Well then, I don't want to be right.
Nolan's Grandma (sweet Nanny) and I have become quite close because of it--Thank You Postum!! Not only does it taste great, it brings families together!!
Now, I have to go because it's time for my meds, Jeopardy's on, and I've got to soak my teeth in Polident…
Peace. I'm out.
PS—Forward this post to your Grandma, please. I would like to start a Postum Support Group if at all possible.

You are an old woman trapped in a young body..my grandpa used to drink it everyday. You're funny!
Ha! You are killin' me. Postum is what we had all the recovering coffee drinkers chug on my mission. It sounds like Postum is bringing families together i.e. Grandma. You just glug, glug, glug it all you want girl.
PS-I haven't seen this on your Daily Plate. What else are you hiding?;)
and here i thought you were finally announcing your pregnancy! well, i know for sure my one grandma is in. or maybe not. i think she switched to hot water a few years back...
Don't worry Kris. Kurt will be the VP of your club. He asked our waiter on the cruise if they had Postum. I started laughing so freaking hard. Really? Postum. They'd never even heard of it.
Too funny. How in the world did you get hooked on Postum? Do you have to sweeten it up with something? Actually, um, I don't even really know what it is. I'm going to have to look it up.
Where have I been? I had never heard of postum until this post. It looks like coffee, does it taste like it? Not that I would know what coffee taste like.
Girl, my Dad likes that stuff, can't say that I do, but enjoy!!
Hey there, I just read your question about weight lifting...it really depends on your goals. BUT, if you are lifting 3-5 times a week, you're good. Personally, I lift everytime I go to the gym 4-5 times/week. I don't lift with the same body parts on consecutive days. Even on days that I run, I do some kind of resistance training at my house or outside. There are so many many options. Some days I do long cardio and less weights, some more weights less cardio. A lot of the time, it you are doing it right, weights really can be a continuation of cardio. Just keep mixing it up so you don't get bored (mentally) and your body doesn't get used to the same old same old. Keep it fresh :)And NO, you didn't weird me out asking me questions, honey I could talk all day long on the subject.
LOL, that was great! Hurray for Grandmas and 27 year old grandmas!
i've never had postum-i feel so out of the loop now:) what is it? i am a 27 year old trapped in a 87 year old body-the opposite of you i guess. i say this because if i try to jog for more than 10 seconds i get a cramp. i feel like an old lady. dang i need to work out or somethin.
glad to hear you have ben harper on your playlist-joey and i dig that guy. :)
Ummm....what's Postrum? Sorry, I've never heard of it. Now I feel stupid.
LIVED on the stuff while in college. (University of Arizona) for 4 years. It was cheap and fairly healthy!
Between POSTUM and RAMEN, I did not starve to death!!!!
My mom and dad raised us on Postum -- I drank it for years but I have to admit that I haven't given it a thought in some time. Thanks for a nice trip down memory lane!
You are so funny! Are we from the same family! Ha ha! Maybe you can switch our grandma over to this!!!
For those of you who don't know what Postum is: I honestly don't know either...but it is supposed to be a substitute for coffee...ooooh, see what a rebel I am? It's a dark liquid (sounds yummy, right?) you warm up (and I add a little fat free French Vanilla creamer & splenda) and I am on my way...to Bingo, or somewhere equally elderly...
wha? never heard of it either. But you never cease to amuse me, Kristi dear.
My mom is probably the founder of a Postum loving group. She informed me the other day that is no longer being made (true story). If your local grocer still has some...you better get it while you can! :)
Haha. I love that you're really an old person in a young person's body. I do still love you though!!
you are freakin' hilarious! yes, my grandma drinks that. but, when she doesn't have that, she just heads straight for the decaf coffee, same thing, right???
