Tri, Tri Again

Man, oh man, did I want to post a sweet story about how hot I looked in my spandex onesie, how I swam ferociously through town lake, crashed my bike into three people only to pop back up and sprint to the finish line. However, Kristi and the triathlon were not meant to be. At 6:00 am, I received a text message from CapTexTri that the triathlon was cancelled! Dagnabbit! It rained all day yesterday, all last night, and into the morning. So when they tested town lake's water at 6:00 am, it was unsuitable for humans due to the flooding and the giant logs floating in the water (that would probably hit you in the face).Pretty disappointing, but oh well. What can you do? Better luck next year. I'll have a more interesting post later (well probably not interesting, but different) Have a good Memorial day!

man. that sucks. but you don't want to swim in unsuitable lakes. and at least you're still alive, right?

this is sick, but when you said logs floating in the lake. I thought "did the sewer back up into the lake?" ewww!
very clever with the "tri tri again"

I would be thanking my lucky stars it got cancelled! I am obviously too lazy and/or out of shape to sign up in the first place.

I thought the same thing about the logs...although we lived in San Diego and way down South some of the beaches would close because it was unfit to swim in BECAUSE of sewage run off/ back up (whatever) from Mexico. It wasn't always gross like that, but when the conditions were "just right"...needless to say I was never a big beach girl.

What a letdown! And once you got back to sleep after the text at 6, you had annoying people calling you again at 7. So rude!

Thank heavens the logs were actual trees and not sewage! (Although I'm sure both were involved in the flooding.) I'm glad they didn't let us swim with any kind of logs :) Kasey--you did not bug me, I appreciated the call a lot (and your bike/wetsuit/shoes) :) Natalie, get ready for my bike unitard every time I see you.
