6:30 AM…

Being awake at 6:30 am on a Saturday is not as fun as it sounds. Braden was the culprit this morning, leaving Nolan and I squabbling over who had to get up with him.

Nolan: "I got up with him yesterday at 6:30 am."

Me: "I gave birth to him."

Ok, so not my most logical argument, but can anything really trump it? I mean, when you birth a giant baby out of your nether regions, you deserve a little sleep in on Saturday morning, right? I like to justify things like that…

But that Braden knows how to play his Mother.

Braden yelling from his room: "I have to poop."

We are trying to potty train Braden (finally) and you wouldn't have known it was me, I shot up out of bed so fast! It's freaky what a strong pull pooping in the potty has to get me out of bed. As I rushed him to the bathroom, he said

"No poop, Momma. No poop."

Awesome.

Anyway, after I got him some cereal for breakfast, I started to feel nauseated and I realized something very important:

My body was rejecting the early morning. This is why I am not a morning person. It physically makes me ill to be awake before 8:00 am…see? This explains a lot.

Have a great Saturday!!!

That Braden is one smart cookie! He knows how to work his mama! He's no dumb dumb! He's so adorable too! PS-Are you sure that's not morning sickness???

ah, that tricky little boy. i'm so not a morning person either and daylight savings has me all in a tizzy. i try not to be up before 8, but the stupid time change is screwing with me. i hate it!

Really...what sane person chooses to wake up before 10? I'm with you...definately a sleeper.

I think he pulled the poop trick just to get you out of bed!

He knows what get his mama moving. Heck that would get me movin' too. Your conversation about who gets up with him sounds very familiar...

6:30 on a Saturday should definitely be against the law. I'm not a morning person at all, and anyone waking me early will meet my wrath. Scary thought. I'm glad you survived your early morning.

see, i'm cursed. i've decided that if i sleep in, i get headaches. had a headache all day today, cause i slept in til 7:30. that's an hour late. sucks! but i've decided that if i go lay on the couch and watch tv, i can be pretty comatose. and maybe not get the homework. good job braden!!!

You totally trumped Nolan. He needs to come to terms with that. Period. Oh, how your blog makes my day!!

"I gave birth to him" hahaha that just cracked me up. I guess I am the only morning person in the world. I am up and at em by 6:00 each morning.

After a day of flying from Salt Lake to Dallas and back - I thought I would pass out like the 2nd I got home and sleep until, FOREVER! But I got home, got my 2nd wind...wasn't sleepy and then woke up at 7am. Then I just get mad because on the days I HAVE to be to work - I barely pull myself out of bed at 7am, only to rush to get ready and look like hell all day at work. Now, weekends come and I wake up bright eyed and bushytailed at 6:30am. BLEH...and a lot of swear words! :)

Sorry for the no poop though! haha

man. Libby has been up bright and frickin early since daylight savings too (6:00ish). Not cool.
Good call on throwing the "I birthed him" card. Always a winner. darn peek-a-boo poop.

I am pretty sure Nolan coached him to say that....what a rotten trick! I'm on your side...giving birth trumps all!!!

When I had my first baby I thought wow, now I will be able to sleep comfortably. Yeah right...I don't think I have had a good nights sleep since. Fake sleeping through it, it occasionally works.

hmmm...with all this baby talk and being sick in the morning, is there something else going on????

For real-- ten years ago, would you have ever dreamed that any mention of poop would make you come running? Motherhood is an enigma.

Heather said...

Isn't that the truth Sharla...when did poop=come running?! But it does. I'm a morning person myself, but it is nice to sleep in on Saturday. Next week, it's all yours. (the sleeping in that is) Just tell Nolan now, baby!!

I'm with the rest of the gals Kristi, are you sure there aren't other reasons for feeling ill Saturday morning?!?!?

Oh, I agree. "I gave birth to him" beats everything. Every time. Always. (use it often!)

I am a morning person myself. But that means I better be asleep by 11. Or else. Kids keep us awake. Up in the night. Up early. I long for the day when they kids can get up and take care of themselves. So if I want to sleep past 6, I can.
