While driving down the street minding your own business, you might reach an intersection. As you pull to a stop, you might glance around at your fellow drivers. And you just might spot a family of four.
If you look closely (or distantly, depending on your preference), you will notice something unusual about this family of four. No, it's not their shiny hair or dazzling smiles. But an extraordinary amount of head-bopping, heartfelt singing, and Air instrument playing…yes, that's right…you have happened upon an Air-instrument Family Band.
A little band I'd like to call: Wrights Are Tough
You see, the name of the band is significant because it takes a lot of emotional strength to be a part of an Air Band. Not everyone is a fan. You can imagine the amount of laughing, gawking, or ridicule…but I'm sure Einstein was mocked for e=mc squared initially and look where he is now...er, then...you know what I mean.
So without further ado, I'd like to introduce: Braden on the Air Guitar with back-up murmuring. Brinley on the Air Drums with back-up vocals. Lead Air Vocals: Nolan and Kristi share that coveted role. (Sometimes one holds the Air Microphone for the other…we're very loving like that)
So, the whole Family was jamming to a little "Flowers in the Window" (for the gazillionth time thanks to our lead Air Guitarist), demonstrating our Air skillz quite perfectly, if I do say so myself, when a natural break in my Air singing left me glancing at the car next to us…
It wasn't until I saw the couple laughing at our little Air Band that I realized: we are freaks.
Um, and not to brag or anything, but Braden really has some mad Air Guitar skills. My hope is that one day he can achieve this kind of status…
"Oh, and sir? Where do you get a Tiger Sweatshirt like that? If one was in the market for that sort of thing?"
(Shoot! I'm so ticked--I can't get any of my pictures of Braden & Brinley's air moves to upload! I don't know what the problem is! Dagnabbit!)

y'all are a regular air partrige family. let's get you a bus. i'm all for belting it out in the car, too. especially to a little travis. or better yet, les mis. the other day we were singing "do you hear the people sing" at the top of our lungs, windows down, and we pulled up to the scene of an accident. just then the track ended and went back to #1, the overture type track that's all "dum-dum!" ominously. it's only funny if you know the music, but it was totally appropriate for chiggity checking out an overturned suv.
So cute your Brady Bunch Family! Post those pics when you figure it out.
I'm happy to see Mr. Miyagi ignoring his OB's advise NOT to overexert himself at 7 months preggo. Love his 'Eye of the Tiger' ensemble..a must have here in Japan. Hai!
We definitely need to see those pictures. I loved it! You're quite the family.
I love watching the kids play their air instruments. They are both little Mozarts on the air piano as well.
You have to get me in touch with the air guitarist. Winter is coming and I must and I repeat, must, have that sweater.
This is too funny. Too funny.
funny. the guy looks a bit "down-syndrome",which if he is it is even cuter than i would have given him credit for. i have a feeling he isn't though, until you look at the shirt. that shirt is perfect, steve has one just like that tucked away in his closet.
Oh my, I just had to call Ryan at work to watch this. That was hysterical! I'd like to see your little fam do some air guitar. Let's get some footage posted.
Wow! I'm impressed with your familiy's "air skills". And another wow for the dude in the tiger shirt...I didn't know they had air guitar championships!! haha
I'm sorry but it's not everyday that you see a chubby china-man wearing the fugliest tiger sweater ever nitted AND air guitaring in loafers and dress pants. thankyou for that kristi. truly. thankyou.
now I want to see you little Joe perry's on film...
I love that he so proudly exposes his round belly, when I keep mine tucked away from any onlookers. I all to often get caught jamming in the car. Luckily stop lights just don't last that long.
There are really air guitar championships? Wow! i love that your family air band. we do the same but we're more of the dancin' kind of family! So funny! I love the tiger shirt, where did he find that?
Where do you find these? I want to see the pictures of your Air-swinging band. I'm sure I'd be jamming to the music.
