Nothing too cool to blog about, but here goes...
Ever since I went to Hobby Lobby for their 50% off sale, I have been consumed with working on scrapbook things. Nothing particularly for myself (which is silly), but mostly mini-albums, cards, etc. I am really loving it. It's been like a year since I've made anything, and I really missed it. Mostly I have been collecting scrapbooking supplies without using them.
We've also been swimming like fools this week. The days can drag when we are at home for too long, with fighting and drama, so I've been trying to take them to the pool to occupy their time. I've realized the pool is going to rock this summer, though, because Brinley can swim independently and Braden can swim with a life jacket, so we're good to go. It's nice to have them becoming more independent. Now if only I could get them to sweep and mop the kitchen...
However, today I was reminded of what a crazy emotional loony I used to be (ok, let's get real: still am ;) when Brinley was an only child. Today at the pool Braden decided to take off his life jacket, which lasted about one minute, and then walked right into the pool. It took me a second to realize what happened before I calmly lifted him out of the water. However, I tell you what--that is definitely the broken-in-version-of-a-mom Kristi. When Brinley walked into the pool and went under water for the first time at that age, the new-mom Kristi was freaking out, causing even more trauma for Brinley, I'm sure. I felt like the worst mother in the world and I was crying and a bit of a mess. Anyways, it got me thinking: poor Brinley. She will always get the crazy hysterical mother because everything she experiences for the first time, will be the first time for me as a parent.

Will you please post some of your scrapping creations?? I have been collecting too and coming up with good ideas in theory, but haven't followed through. It is such fun to put something great together!
i totally feel that way with maya, too. that she must be the dramatic little maniac that she is because i'm such a spaz! oh, and we're looking forward to trying out that pool! ;)
I try and take the kids to the pool as much as possible too. It's so nice when they have a friend or two there and so do you. Just keep your eye on the water so nobody drowns...wait isn't that why there's life guards? You're good. Hope likes to sit and splash, but she has tipped over a couple times and the poor baby goes all the way under. I try to be calm and it doesn't seem to faze her. OOOps.
by the time you get to the fourth kid, you'll be saying "don't break my banister" when they fall down the stairs and nearly die! :)
I think we all go nuts on the first kid. I do I even catch myself doing it. I'm the 4th and youngest and only girl. By the time I came around my parents were so tired that I got pretty much all I wanted and got away with a whole lot. My bro tired my poor parents out. Man, I sound like a spoiled brat. I will not admit to being spoiled to my brothers.
Poor Kaitlin, I am a huge freak out and haven't had a second kid, to mellow me. I am trying to relax so I don't scare her when things happen. Glad you're having fun at the pool. We love to swim too.
Whew! I feel better. I'll post some pictures of the goods soon ;)
