Run, Baby Run!

Today I went running for the first time in about 3 weeks and man, did it feel great. I felt like my old self again. I didn't realize I was in a funk until I ran today. I think it was because the Triathlon was cancelled (dude, I worked my booty off for 3 months and was really disappointed I couldn't compete!) OK, sorry to vent (I'm done, I promise), but do you ever get into those moods where you don't feel normal, you're not sure why, and you don't know how to get out of it. I was just blah. Does that make sense? I guess my way of punishing the CapTexTri/Weather people was to stop working out...logical, I know.

But today it was awesome. When I first started running, I just got into the groove and felt so refreshed from it. I even started thinking, "OK, when is the next race I can run in?" And I have not been feeling like doing anything lately, so that was nice. It's just nice to feel normal again. I really do love running. I think I may even clean a little today or do some laundry. It's a Monday miracle :)

Also, I felt like Heather on Saturday night because I made both my kids and my husband take a room and we all cleaned the house together and it was awesome! Even Braden did his part (albeit a small part). I love having help. We're making that a tradition.

You're are so good. I think that's great you love to run. My friend likes to run too. She said whenever she get's cramps she runs and it makes her feel better. If I get cramps I am laying on the couch, with a bag of twizzlers watching anne of green gables. How said am I?

Jori, I'm with you--if cramps are in town, then I'm on the couch. No thank you to much else. :)

yeah, i still haven't gotten runners' high, i guess...i still hate to run. but i've been doing the elliptical faithfully, and i don't mind it at all. i totally know what you mean about being in a funk. i was in a funk because of my glasses, i think. i was feeling so ugly! but ta-da! my sight has been restored! i've finally got contacts in for the first time in 2 weeks. reunited, and it feels so good!

That's awesome, that you run so much. I love the elliptical. It's so low impact. Jor, with cramps I'm all about Poppin a few aleve and sitting on my butt for the full time even if I'm not cramping. :)

I was running on a regular basis 8 years ago. I was just married and still skinny, but wanted some calf muscles. It worked, but I was off the running bandwagon pretty fast. Good for you. I am actually excited to have this baby so I can get my rear in gear. Keep inspiring us!

Go Kristi! You've got to love that runner's high! It is getting so ugly hot right now, those early morning runs are sounding good. I love getting everybody helping in the picking up process, it's the only way our house stays somewhat(and I mean somewhat) put together!!
