Bucking the Trend

The world is a trendy place. I think it is easy to feel forced slightly pressured into following trends. Trends here, trends there. iPhone this, Pilates that.

I'm over it. I'm over your trends, world. That's right, you heard me.

So, what am I going to do with my new found independence, you might ask? Well, I decided to start slowly and take it one trend at a time. The first trend I will buck (that's sounds awful) is the weight-loss trend.

The world pushes us, and pushes us to follow this trend: Lose weight. Take these pills. Exercise. Be healthy. Be happy. I've decided it's all crap. It's just the man trying to keep us down, keep us wrapped around his little finger.

No more, I tell you. So, in honor of bucking the trend, I am going to gain weight. And not talking a measly 10 lbs-20 lbs (let's get real: I have can pull that off in my sleep) I'm thinking a good 100 lbs-150 lbs of weight gain will ensure that everyone knows I am not a trend-follower. I have cut the strings and will no longer cater to the trend puppet-masters.

So, begins my journey of 1000 miles to independence, which will begin with one step towards the cheesecake in the kitchen.
